Black History Month is a celebration of the contribution and achievements of black people throughout history.  This was the 33rd Black History Month in the UK.

Each week in October, Fr Steffan released a video produced by the Lambeth South Deanery.  They are made by black clergy looking at Jesus's life in the light of racial justice.

You can watch them from this page--->

Another book that is well worth reading this month is Black and British: A Forgotten History’ by David Olusoga telling the revealing story of the long relationship between the British Isles and the people of Africa and the Caribbean – there is also a version for younger readers which was published to coincide with Black History Month.

You can read a review here:

A new book by the historian Dr Angelina Osborne and the Windrush Campaigner Patrick Vernon OBE called 100 Great Black Britons has been published for Black History Month and celebrates key black individuals in this country over the past 400 years.
